Elicio continues growth with a new and trusted CEO
8 May 2025
Peter Goderis is succeeding Alain Janssens, who has headed Elicio since 2020 and is now retiring. Under Janssens' leadership, Elicio has grown to become a prominent developer and operator of wind power projects in Belgium, France, Spain, Serbia and Scotland.
"Peter can draw on a wealth of experience and know-how in the field of on- and offshore wind energy. He is exactly what is needed to continue Elicio's growth", says Laurent Levaux, Elicio's chairman.
“Since our launch in 2014, we have grown in a focused and successful way, but there are still many challenges ahead of us. Peter represents the Elicio DNA and is the right person to further lead this beautiful company in a sector in full transition," said Alain Janssens, Elicio's outgoing CEO.
Peter Goderis aims to confirm Elicio’s reputation as an experienced renewable energy company with a strong focus on innovation and agility. Elicio is indeed one of the few Belgian renewable energy companies that operates both onshore and offshore while remaining firmly anchored in Belgium.
Peter Goderis, new CEO of Elicio: "With more than two decades of experience, I know the company, as well as the industry, inside out. I am therefore ready, together with our strong and talented team, to continue Elicio's profitable targeted growth. Elicio has tremendous strengths built on a solid foundation laid over the past 10 years."
With changes in the regulatory framework, volatile electricity prices, flexible consumption or rising investment costs, there is no shortage of challenges in the sector. "Moreover, as a locally anchored wind energy pioneer and bearing in mind the current geopolitical situation, our close relationship with Belgium is a real asset. Especially at a time when everyone is talking about strategic autonomy," argues Goderis. Goderis therefore also reaches out to our policymakers: "Now more than ever, government and the energy sector need to work together. We are ready and willing to share our experience and expertise."
